Woodstock, GA – Officer Injured in Car Accident on GA-92 Near I-20
Woodstock, GA (August 1, 2021) – At 3:43 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, July 31, a car accident with injuries occurred in Woodstock.
According to Douglas County officials, the accident happened on GA-92 around the area of I-20. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not fully known. One of the vehicles was identified as a police cruiser. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The officer, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. It is not yet known if any other parties were injured or what their conditions were.
One or two lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time until police cleared the scene.
