Winder, GA – One Injured in Plane Crash Near Atlanta Hwy
Winder, GA (May 29, 2021) – At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, May 29, a plane crash occurred near a major highway in Winder.
According to Barrow County officials, the accident happened at 1000 Atlanta Highway when a plane came down into a group of local warehouses. Fire crews arrived at the scene to find that a small aircraft came down and struck the warehouses, flipping over and coming to a stop. The plane and the warehouses were damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Two people were allegedly on the plane at the time. One of the victims, who has not yet been identified, suffered from minor injuries.
The area was blocked for some time until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
