Winder, GA – Firefighters Injured in House Fire on Loganville Hwy
Winder, GA (September 2, 2021) – Around 11:30 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 31, a serious house fire occurred in Winder.
According to Barrow County officials, the fire broke out in a home on Loganville Highway. Fire crews received multiple calls about a home on fire. When they arrived at the scene, they found immense smoke and fire coming out of the home. They were not sure if anyone was home so they searched the house and worked to extinguish the flames.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help. Two firefighters were injured as they worked to put out the fire. Their conditions are not known but they are expected to recover.
Due to strong winds and heavy rains, there were many challenges as fire crews worked to put out the fire. Traffic in the area was diverted for some time as they worked at the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
