Watkinsville, GA – Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in SB Lanes of US-441
Watkinsville, GA (July 7, 2021) – On Tuesday evening, July 6, a fatal two-vehicle collision took place on a major roadway in Watkinsville.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of US-441. The accident happened at 7 p.m. when a Ford was traveling northbound. The driver of the Ford suddenly lost control and veered over into the southbound lanes of traffic, striking a Honda on the passenger’s side.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The passenger in the Ford, identified as a 52-year-old man from Eatonton, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 64-year-old driver of the Ford, the 72-year-old driver of the Honda, and a 69-year-old female passenger in the Honda were all hospitalized with injuries. They are expected to be okay.
Charges are pending against the driver of the Ford at this time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
