Villa Rica, GA – Car Crash at GA-61 & Belmont Rd Intersection Leads to Injuries
Villa Rica, GA (August 6, 2022) – One or more parties sustained injuries as a result of a car accident that took place at a Villa Rica intersection on Friday evening, August 5.
According to Paulding County officials, the accident happened around 7:25 p.m. at the intersection of GA-61 and Belmont Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide with one another. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the accident.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The northbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
