Vienna, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Pig Jig Blvd
Vienna, GA (February 4, 2023) – A man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a roadway in Vienna on the night of Wednesday, February 1.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on Pig Jig Boulevard around the area of the local Pig Jig. Police confirmed that an 18-year-old woman was driving in the area when she suddenly struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street. The woman stopped and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified a 41-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. The driver who struck the pedestrian has not yet been formally charged for the incident.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
