Valdosta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on E Hill Ave
Valdosta, GA (November 4, 2021) – At 7:45 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, November 2, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Valdosta.
According to Valdosta Police, the accident happened at the intersection of East Hill Avenue and South Barack Obama Boulevard. A 62-year-old man was walking in the area when he stepped off the curb and onto the roadway. That is when he was struck by a 2010 Mercedes sedan. The driver remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was seriously injured and rushed to the hospital for treatment. Several hours after the accident, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
