Valdosta, GA – Child Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Loch Laurel Rd
Valdosta, GA (May 19, 2021) – On Saturday night, May 15, a child was killed in a pedestrian crash on a roadway in Valdosta.
According to authorities, the accident happened on Loch Laurel Road around the area of Torree Pines Lane. The 12-year-old male child was walking on the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. Police claim that the 6th grader was walking home from the store with his older brother and a friend.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The 6th grader was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to traumatic injuries.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the child, identified as a teen driver with a passenger, stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with police.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
