Union City, GA – Two Children Injured in Apartment Fire on Morgan Rd
Union City, GA (September 22, 2021) – Around 4 a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 22, two children were injured in a Union City apartment fire.
According to officials, the fire broke out in an apartment at the Hidden Lakes Apartments off of Morgan Road. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found that the fire was contained in one bedroom of the apartment unit. They used a fire extinguisher to get the fire under control and located a lighter near the couch. This was believed to be the source of the fire.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two children under the age of 5 years old were injured in the fire. They were both transported to Grady Hospital but are expected to be okay.
The area was blocked off for some time as fire crews worked to get the fire under control.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
