Tybee Island, GA – Serious Pedestrian Accident at GA-80 & Teresa Ln
Tybee Island, GA (July 30, 2021) – On Friday morning, July 30, a pedestrian accident occurred at an intersection on Tybee Island.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-80 and Teresa Lane on the north end of the island. A juvenile was jogging in the area around 9 a.m. when they were suddenly struck by a large pickup truck. The mirror on the side of the truck hit the victim, throwing them to the ground.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help the victim. The pedestrian, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to the hospital. They received serious injuries, though their current condition is not yet known.
It is believed that the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene. The roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
