Tybee Island, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Hwy 80
Tybee Island, GA (April 27, 2021) – At 9:30 p.m. on Monday night, April 26, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash in Tybee Island.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 80 near the Lazaretto Creek Bridge. A 37-year-old man was riding his motorcycle in the area when he struck a vehicle for reasons that are not yet known. This caused him to be thrown from his motorcycle. When he landed on the roadway, he was struck by another vehicle.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. The 37-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The roadway was completely blocked in the area until approximately 2:30 a.m. when police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
