Troup Co, GA – Officers Investigating Injury Wreck on I-85 at I-185
Troup Co, GA (August 25, 2021) – Officers with the Troup County Police Department say that injuries resulted from a car crash that occurred on Interstate 85 on Tuesday afternoon, August 25.
According to information released by Troup County authorities, the accident took place around 3:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the Interstate 185 ramp. The accident involved two vehicles, and both were pulled to the side of the road with extensive damage.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident. At least one victim was seriously injured as a result of the accident.
It appears that the injured victim, as well as any others involved, were taken to the hospital for treatment. However, updates on their conditions have not been provided.
All lanes of traffic, including the HOV lane, were blocked for a period of time, causing traffic backups in the area. The events leading up to the accident are unknown at this time.
