Trion, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash at GA-27 & Penn Bridge Rd Intersection
Trion, GA (July 30, 2021) – At 6 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, July 29, a multi-vehicle crash occurred at an intersection in Trion.
According to Chattooga County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-27 and Penn Bridge Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly entered the intersection at the same time, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide. An SUV and two vans were seen in the area with extensive front-end damages. Several tow trucks removed the vehicles from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
