Tifton, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 20th St
Tifton, GA (November 2, 2022) – A woman lost her life in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place near an intersection in Tifton on Tuesday night, November 1.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at an unknown time on 20th Street near the area of Missouri Avenue. Preliminary information showed that an 86-year-old man was traveling in the area in a Ford Explorer when he suddenly struck a female who was attempting to cross the road in the area of the intersection. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, who has since been identified as a 51-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt as a result of the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the collision continues at this time.
