Tifton, GA – Teen Killed in Fatal Crash at US-82 & Carpenter Rd
Tifton, GA (June 8, 2021) – At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, June 5, a teen was killed in a fatal crash at an intersection in Tifton.
According to Worth County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-82 and Carpenter Road. An 18-wheeler and a Jeep collided with each other in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were damaged.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. A passenger in the Jeep, identified as a 19-year-old woman and senior at Worth County High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was hospitalized, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
