Temple, GA – School Bus Crash at US-78 & Bar J Rd Intersection
Temple, GA (April 25, 2022) – On Monday morning, several victims were injured in a school bus accident that took place at an intersection in Temple.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-78 and Bar J. Road. Police confirmed that a school bus driver was traveling in the area when it stopped at the intersection. The driver failed to yield before they traveled into traffic and struck a dump truck. The bus was trying to make a left turn at the time. Police confirmed that the school bus driver then struck an SUV as it was spinning out of control.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of 18 people were hurt as a result of the accident. Police did not confirm how many students were on the bus and who was injured. The parties were hospitalized but their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time after the accident. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
