Suwanee, GA – One Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident on I-85
Suwanee, GA (June 12, 2021) – At 2 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, June 12, one person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Suwanee.
According to Georgia officials, the accident happened in the HOV lanes of I-85 around the area of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. A motorcycle was traveling in the area when, for reasons that are not yet known, it collided with the rear of an SUV. The rider forcefully flew over the side of the median wall into the other lane of traffic.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
