Summerville, GA – Two-Vehicle Crash at US-27 & Bellah Ave Leads to Injuries
Summerville, GA (October 1, 2021) – At 7:30 p.m. on the evening of Friday, October 1, a two-vehicle crash occurred at an intersection in Summerville.
According to Chattooga County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of US-27 and Bellah Avenue. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were severely damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One or more victims were seriously injured in the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals by medical helicopter.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the intersection so that traffic could resume as normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
