Summerville, GA – Two-Vehicle Collision Leads to Injuries on GA-114
Summerville, GA (July 31, 2021) – Around 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Friday, July 30, a two-vehicle collision occurred on a roadway in Summerville.
According to Chattooga County officials, the accident happened on GA-114 in front of the Chattooga County High School. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when one of the vehicles rear-ended the other forcefully. The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident then fled the scene, though police then caught up with them down the road.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
