Stonecrest, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-20 Near Turner Hill Rd
Stonecrest, GA (July 8, 2021) – At 7:46 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, July 8, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Stonecrest.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Turner Hill Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the crash, lanes were blocked at all times for a period of time until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
