Stonecrest, GA – Injury Accident on I-20 Near Panola Rd
Stonecrest, GA (January 7, 2022) – On the afternoon of Friday, January 7, an injury accident occurred on a highway in Stonecrest.
The accident, according to DeKalb County officials, happened at 4 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 around exit 71, Panola Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. It is alleged that one of the vehicles lost control, leading to the accident. The damaged vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics and numerous other responders, including local fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained serious injuries in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
