Stonecrest, GA – Injuries Reported in Car Accident in EB Lanes of I-20
Stonecrest, GA (May 15, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place on a major highway in Stonecrest on Sunday night, May 15.
According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened around 11:41 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Turner Hill Road. Several vehicles were traveling on the highway in the area when they allegedly collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damages and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of traffic were blocked for an extended period of time. Police issued a red alert in the area for some time. They urged drivers in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.
