Stonecrest, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-20 Near Evans Mill Rd
Stonecrest, GA (August 29, 2021) – At 5:38 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, August 29, a car accident with injuries occurred in Stonecrest.
According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Evans Mill Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another due to unknown reasons. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
A red alert was issued in the area and all lanes were blocked for some time. Police urged those in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
