Stone Mtn, GA – Truck Accident with Injuries on I-285 Near Memorial Dr
Stone Mountain, GA (December 15, 2021) – At 5:52 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, December 15, a serious truck accident with injuries occurred in Stone Mountain.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Memorial Drive. A truck was traveling in the area when it collided with one or more vehicles in the southbound lanes. The truck immediately overturned onto its side following the forceful collision. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of unknown injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those in the area to use I-75 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
