Stone Mtn, GA – Passenger Killed in Fatal Car Accident on Memorial Dr

Stone Mountain, GA (March 9, 2023) – At 11 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, March 7, a passenger was killed in a fatal car accident in Stone Mountain.

According to Stone Mountain officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Hambrick Road. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they simultaneously entered the intersection, causing them to collide with each other. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the crash and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A passenger inside one of the vehicles was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The drivers of both vehicles, as well as another passenger, sustained injuries but have since been listed in stable condition.

The roadway was almost entirely blocked at the intersection for some time after the accident. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
