Stone Mtn, GA – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on US-78
Stone Mountain, GA (May 14, 2022) – According to reports from local officials, a car accident involving multiple vehicles and injuries took place on a highway in Stone Mountain on Saturday, May 14.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened around 6:36 p.m. in the westbound lanes of US-78 around the area of exit 4, Mountain Industrial Boulevard. Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to unknown reasons. The involved vehicles sustained immense damages due to the collision and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt in the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their identities and conditions are not known at this time.
One left lane of traffic was blocked for a period of time. Photographs taken at the scene showed massive delays in the area. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
