Stone Mtn, GA – Injuries Reported in Car Crash on US-78 Near Hugh Howell Rd
Stone Mountain, GA (January 8, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a serious car crash involving multiple vehicles in Stone Mountain on Saturday, January 8.
Stone Mountain officials reported that the accident happened at 1:33 p.m. in the westbound lanes of US-78. Three or more vehicles were traveling around the area of Hugh Howell Road when one or more lost control, causing a severe chain-reaction collision. The involved vehicles forcefully struck one another, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The accident blocked two left lanes of traffic for some time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
