Stone Mtn, GA – Car Accident on GA-78 Near Hugh Howell Rd
Stone Mountain, GA (June 11, 2021) – At 5:30 a.m. on the morning of Friday, June 11, a car accident happened on a highway in Stone Mountain.
According to officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of GA-78 around the area of Hugh Howell Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling on the highway in the morning hours when the vehicles collided with one another. Police confirmed that the vehicles involved in the accident were severely damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders arrived at the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were injured and hospitalized as a result. Their current conditions are not yet known.
One or more lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
