Stone Mtn, GA – Car Accident at Covington Hwy & Young Rd
Stone Mountain, GA (July 10, 2021) – At 2:52 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, a car accident with injuries occurred in Stone Mountain.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Covington Highway and Young Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding forcefully with each other. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged as a result of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
One right lane of traffic was blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
