Statham, GA – Truck Accident at GA-316 & Barber Creek Rd
Statham, GA (November 18, 2021) – On Thursday morning, November 18, a truck accident occurred at an intersection in Statham.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-316 and Barber Creek Road. A Kenworth tractor-trailer was attempting to enter the intersection. The truck blocked the westbound lanes of traffic and a Honda slammed into the side of the truck. The Honda was severely damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Honda HRV was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the truck, identified as a 66-year-old man, was not hurt.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
