Statesboro, GA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Burkhalter Rd
Statesboro, GA (September 26, 2021) – At 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, September 26, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Statesboro.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Burkhalter Road and Thomkin Drive. A 28-year-old man was in the area when he was struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the intersection. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
