Springfield, GA – Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash at Stillwell Rd & Log Landing Rd
Springfield, GA (August 25, 2022) – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident that took place at an intersection in Springfield on Wednesday evening, August 24.
According to Effingham County Sheriff’s Office department crews, the accident happened at 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Stillwell Road and Log Landing Road. Two motorcyclists were traveling east in the area when a person who was driving a sedan pulled out in front of them. One of the motorcyclists was unable to stop in time and slammed into the sedan.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist who was struck by the vehicle was severely injured in the accident and rushed to Effingham County Hospital. The victim, who has since been identified as a 23-year-old man, was tragically pronounced dead while there. The second motorcyclist did not sustain serious injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
