Sparta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on GA-22
Sparta, GA (June 11, 2021) – On Thursday night, June 10, a man was killed in a fatal truck crash on a major roadway in Sparta.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at GA-22 in Hancock County. Around 9 p.m., a 47-year-old man was driving his Elantra in the area when the vehicle collided head-on with a dump truck.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the Elantra was pronounced dead at the scene. The female passenger inside the Elantra was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
