Snellville, GA – Officer Injured in Car Accident on Scenic Hwy
Snellville, GA (September 9, 2021) – On Thursday, September 9, an officer was injured in a car accident on a highway in Snellville.
According to Snellville Police, the accident happened on Scenic Highway around the area of Wisteria Drive and Dogwood Road. A driver was traveling in the area when they allegedly pulled out in front of an officer. The officer was responding to a call at the time and had both lights and sirens on. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The officer, as well as two other people in the second vehicle, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of injuries. They are expected to fully recover.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
Georgia State Patrol officials continue their investigation into the accident.
