Smyrna, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision on I-285 Near S Cobb Dr
Smyrna, GA (June 10, 2021) – At 7:22 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, June 10, a tractor-trailer collision occurred on a highway in Smyrna.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Cobb Drive. A truck and at least one passenger vehicle collided with each other in the area. The vehicles involved in the collision sustained severe front-end damage. The truck and the passenger vehicle had to be removed from the roadway following the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
