Smyrna, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-285 Near S Cobb Dr
Smyrna, GA (July 31, 2021) – At 11:21 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, July 31, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Smyrna.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Cobb Drive. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in all but one lane, which led to delays in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
