Smyrna, GA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Cooper Lake Rd
Smyrna, GA (May 15, 2021) – On Friday, May 14, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a roadway in Smyrna.
According to Cobb County Police, the accident happened on Cooper Lake Road near the area of Berryhill Creek. An 84-year-old driver was in a Honda CR-V was headed east when she struck a man in an electric wheelchair who was crossing the street.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The man in the electric wheelchair, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 84-year-old driver stopped at the scene to cooperate with the police. She did not have injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
