Smyrna, GA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Atlanta Rd & Ledford St
Smyrna, GA (August 2, 2021) – On Sunday, August 1, a man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash at an intersection in Smyrna.
According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Atlanta Road and Ledford Street. At the time, an 18-year-old man was traveling on a blue Yamaha motorcycle around 10:15 p.m. At the time, a Toyota Corolla pulled out of a driveway in front of the motorcyclist. The vehicles involved forcefully collided with each other.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 18-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. The driver of the Corolla, identified as a 25-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police have not yet announced any charges. The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
