Smyrna, GA – Car Accident with Injuries on I-285 Near S Cobb Dr
Smyrna, GA (July 12, 2021) – At 5:19 p.m. on the evening of Monday, July 12, a car accident with injuries occurred in Smyrna.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Cobb Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hospitalized as a result of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to quickly clear the scene and tow trucks removed the involved vehicles from the scene.
