Smyrna, GA – Car Accident on I-285 Near S Cobb Dr Leads to Injuries
Smyrna, GA (July 10, 2021) – At 1:41 p.m. on the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, a car accident with injuries occurred in Smyrna.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of South Cobb Drive. Two or more vehicles collided with each other, causing them to run off the side of the road. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
