Senoia, GA – Student Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Brechin Dr
Senoia, GA (February 11, 2022) – On Thursday evening, February 10, a student was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Senoia.
Fayette County officials confirmed that the accident happened on Brechin Drive. At the time, a 16-year-old student from Starr’s Mill High School was walking alongside the road. He was suddenly struck by the 60-year-old male driver of a Pontiac Grand Prix who crossed into the other lane and struck the boy. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested after being found by police. He has since been charged with vehicular homicide, DUI, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a collision, and more.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for a period of time.
