2/8 Atlanta, GA – Car Accident on Piedmont Rd & Miami Circle

Savannah, GA (October 18, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place on a major roadway in Savannah on Monday night, October 17.

According to Savannah Police, the accident happened at 10:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-516 around the area of Ogeechee Road. Police confirmed that a 20-year-old pedestrian female was near the left side of the roadway when she was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. The 20-year-old pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital but was tragically pronounced dead while there due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the accident.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes of traffic in the area for some time. It is not known if police were able to locate the driver responsible for this accident.
