Savannah, GA – Teen Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision on Colleen Dr
Savannah, GA (December 8, 2022) – Around 9:10 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, December 8, a teen was killed in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police, the accident happened at 11400 Colleen Drive. Police confirmed that a 17-year-old male was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by a pickup truck that was operated by 26-year-old Issac Gibbs. Gibbs fled the scene of the collision before police arrived.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with traumatic injuries. He was tragically pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police later caught up to the driver responsible for the accident. Gibbs has since been charged with murder for his role in the collision.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time. Police will update with any new information as it becomes available.
