Savannah, GA (June 5, 2021) – Around 10 p.m. on Thursday night, June 3, a serious pedestrian accident occurred on a roadway in Savannah.

According to Savannah Police, the accident happened on Abercorn Street around the area of Echols Street. A 64-year-old man from Alabama was walking across the roadway when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling through the area.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were present at the scene of the crash. The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with a variety of serious injuries. His current condition is not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
