Savannah, GA – Pedestrian Crash at Bay St & Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
Savannah, GA (October 8, 2021) – At 6 a.m. on Friday, October 8, a pedestrian crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Bay Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A woman was walking in the area when she suddenly started to cross the street at the intersection, being struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The woman, who has not yet been identified, sustained serious injuries as a result. Her condition is not yet known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
