Savannah, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on GA-204
Savannah, GA (December 10, 2021) – At 8 p.m. on the night of Thursday, December 9, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Savannah.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on GA-204 around the area of Veterans Parkway. A 34-year-old man from Lebanon was walking in the westbound lanes of traffic when he was suddenly struck by a Dodge Caravan. The driver allegedly did not see the pedestrian when the accident occurred. However, they pulled over and remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured in the accident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
The driver is not yet facing any charges due to the accident. The roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
