Savannah, GA – Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries at Liberty St & Montgomery St
Savannah, GA (February 8, 2023) – On Sunday, February 5, a hit-and-run accident with injuries took place at an intersection in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police Department officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Liberty Street and Montgomery Street. Two Myrtle Beach residents, identified as an elderly couple, were walking across the intersection when they were suddenly struck by a gray Ford F-150. The driver of the Ford immediately fled the scene and was last seen getting onto Highway 16.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The couple, identified as 76-year-old Thomas Curry and 75-year-old Barbara Curry, sustained serious injuries in the accident. They were both hospitalized, but their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for some time following the accident. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released. Police continue to look for the hit-and-run driver responsible for this accident. The investigation into the accident continues.
