Savannah, GA – Hit-and-Run Crash at Abercorn St & Ogeechee Rd Intersection
Savannah GA (August 8, 2021) – Around 5:50 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 8, a hit-and-run crash occurred at an intersection in Savannah.
According to the Savannah Police Department, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of Abercorn Street at the Ogeechee Road intersection. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they suddenly collided with each other forcefully, which led to extensive damages. One of the drivers got out of their vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Occupants inside the second vehicle were injured in the crash. The injured victims sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
