Savannah, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at Bull St & Liberty St
Savannah, GA (December 6, 2021) – At 9:30 p.m. on the night of Sunday, December 5, a fatal pedestrian crash took place at an intersection in Savannah.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Bull Street and Liberty Street. A Dodge Charger was traveling in the area at a high rate of speed. An officer noticed the vehicle and attempted to stop the driver but was unable to. The vehicle continued onward and collided with two pedestrians at the intersection of Bull Street and Liberty Street. The driver did not remain at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead at the scene. The other pedestrian was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police attempted to locate the suspect vehicle and found the Dodge Charger with front-end damage in the area. The suspect, identified as a military soldier, was taken to jail on several charges.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
