Savannah, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
Savannah, GA (June 13, 2021) – At 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, one person was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police, the collision happened on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around the area of Gwinnett Street. A 74-year-old woman was allegedly attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a northbound Toyota Camry. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian suffered from severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
